October 2, 2005 - The 15 th edition of Business Open Day was again a huge success this year. The 350 or so companies in Flanders that opened their doors to the public attracted more than 840,000 visitors. That is a record.
The biggest crowd puller this year was Janssen Pharmaceutica, with more than 15,000 people passing through the doors. People came from far and wide to see something of what goes on behind the scenes at the company.
The last time that the pharmaceutical company Janssen Pharmceutica participated in this event, which had ‘Women-friendly Enterprise' as its theme, was eight years ago.
The numerous visitors were first invited to a general presentation of the company in the Company Restaurant and were then conducted to the Dr Paul Janssen Research Center, which was opened last year. The guided tour then went to the Pharmaceutical Production department, where great interest was shown in the operation of the packaging line. The guests were then invited to visit the water treatment plant.
At the end of the guided tour, interested visitors were given the opportunity to find out more about career possibilities at Janssen Pharmaceutica and about the company's nomination as ‘Women-friendly Enterprise', a joint initiative of the Business Open Day organization, the magazine Trends and the temporary employment agency business ‘Accent', with the support of the Flemish Authority. |
